“I always wanted to do that.”
She lay crooked in his arm, her head comfortably pillowed on his shoulder, both of them flat on their backs in the park. It was an idyllic day, the kind of day a child draws with crayons. Bright, hard blue sky, vivid green grass, and a sparkling pond full of ducks completed the picture. Far overhead, seagulls wheeled and soared on air currents, and the crisp air carried the fresh, salty scent of the ocean.
“Do what?” he murmured, sleepy beneath the warm rays of the sun.
“Fly.”
He stroked her hair absently. “I could arrange that.”
“I know you could,”

Here goes nothing...
She popped the trunk open and picked up one of the three cardboard boxes she had nestled there. After twenty two years of living with her parents, she had surprisingly few belongings and hoped to rectify that in the upcoming months. Overhead, the dreary gray sky threatened rain, and a sparse sprinkling of droplets came down with the wind. The slender, raven-haired beauty hurried over to the apartment building door and jostled the box in an effort to get at her keys. Behind her, her enormous father was still struggling from the car.
